Bobby Joe Long is an American serial killer and rapist who committed his assaults across the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. He claimed the lives of as many as ten women, only abducting those who approached him and picked him up first, because in his eyes, those women were manipulative whores who needed to die. Bobby would push the passenger seat back flat and have the victim sit in the seat, tie her up, and push her back so her head would be lower than the back window. As they drove, Bobby would use his free hand to grope the women and once they reached their destination, he would rape and finally, strangle her to death. He had released his last victim–although not after raping her first–and she was able to provide info to the police which lead to his capture. Bobby claimed that he received brain damage after getting into a nasty motorcycle accident, and that’s when strange things began happening to his sex drive. Despite the brain scans to back this up, the jury found him guilty, and in early 1985, was sentenced to die in the electric chair. He still–after all these years–remains on death row in Florida.
