In 1977, soon after being released from an institution for the criminally insane, serial killer Richard Chase went up to his mother’s home and rang the doorbell. Once she opened the door, he proceeded to shove a dead cat into her face. Chase then threw the animal onto the ground, sat down, tore open its stomach with nothing but his bare hands, and started wiping its blood all over his face all while screaming. His mother, unfazed by his behavior at that point, merely went back inside and kept quiet about it.
