Sondra London is a serial killer groupie (but she writes great books).

Sondra’s serial killer groupie days began inadvertently. She was high school sweethearts with Gerard Schaefer. Schaefer wasn’t killing anyone during high school, but after he did.  He was subsequently arrested and murdered while in prison.  Before the murder, London contacted her former lover and mentioned that she wanted to help him write a book.  That book developed into the highly sought after Killer Fiction. 

Not long after the book with Schaefer, London started a correspondence with serial killer Danny Rolling. That correspondence turned into a love affair of sorts with London going on several news and talk shows talking about her love for Rolling and how they are soul mates and Rolling, in turn, using his court appearances to sing love ballads to London.  London also helped Rolling put out his own book titled, The Making of a Serial Killer: The Real Story of the Gainesville Murders. 
Rolling and London were engaged for some time, but apparently that relationship fizzled.

After she was done with Rolling, (who has since been executed by the state of Florida)she set out to write a book about vampires.  While doing so, she became very close to killer Rod Ferrell and also called upon french killer Nico Claux to do the illustration of her vampire book.

By 1996, London had her sights set on yet another serial killer, that being “Happy Face Killer” Keith Jesperson.  Jesperson had just been apprehended in 1995 and his case was fairly new.  He decided, like many of the other killers London had been in contact with, that he would reveal some of his murder confessions to her.  London in turn started an AOL webpage detailing his confessions with scans of his letters being shown.  Jesperson has since said that London went out of her way to try to make him fall in love with her, sending photos of herself in lingerie and and explaining a need to visit him immediately.

Jesperson isn’t the only killer to have come forward talking about how strong London came on to him.  In 1999, “Cross Country Killer” Glen Rogers had this to say about London:

When I first got arrested, I received a letter from her[London], I didn’t know anything about her, I did write her a couple of times, but it didn’t take me long to see this womans true colors, in her 3rd letter to me, she claimed she was in love with me, and we should get married as soon as possible, and she was going to write a book about me, to raise money, so she could live next to the prison and visit me every week, my first thought was, this lady is crazier than a Junk yard dog, then I looked in the mirror, I didn’t see stupid stamped on my forehead anywhere, I never wrote her again, next thing I know, she is on T.V. claiming to be my girlfriend or spokesperson, she showed up at my trial in FLA, with a film crew, I have my lawyer ask the court to remove her, and they did, I had to have her banned from the County Jail.

London seems to have put her serial killer groupie days behind her, but you never know when another killer may pop up talking about her.
