Edmund Kemper is well known for his atrocious and brutal crimes, but something the serial killer may be less known for is his morbid sense of humor.

Most times his mother had been the target of his sick jokes.

Ed buried the head of one of his victims heads (Cindy Schall) in his mothers backyard facing up her bedroom window. After questioning Edmund simply replied, that his mother always wanted people “to look up to her.”

Another time, after Ed had murdered and decapitated his mother, he took her vocal cords and fed it into the garbage disposal. To the police Edmund stated: “It seemed appropriate as much as she’d bitched and screamed and yelled at me over so many years.” But the disposal quickly returned his mothers larynx to Ed and he said bitterly: “Even when she was dead, she was still bitching at me. I coudn’t get her to shut up.”

Kemper recalled a certain occasion after he had taken the lifes of his first victims: “I would sit there looking at the heads on an overstuffed chair, tripping on them on my bed, looking at them [when] one of them somehow becomes unsettled, comes rolling down the chair, very grisly. Tumbling down the chair, rolls across the caushion and hits the rug - ‘bonk!’.The neighbour downstairs hates my guts. I’m always malking noise late at night. He gets a broom and whacks on the ceiling. ’Buddy’, I say, ‘I’m sorry for that, dropped my head, sorry’. That helped bring me out of the depression. I would trip on that.”
