MOST CHILLING CASES OF UNSUSPECTING                              PEOPLE KILLED BY THEIR OWN FRIENDS

THE GROUP HUG

Philadelphia, 2003

Lured to a remote countryside with the promise of sex,  16 year old Jason Sweeney had no idea he was walking into a trap.  Planned for weeks by Edward Batzig Jr., his best friend since 3rd grade, to kill his friend and rob him. He was jealous of his job and money.

Recently deemed a bad influence by his parents, Batzing Jr. grew resentful.  He knew Jason had a crush on Justina and what days he would get paid.  Batzig Jr and the Coia Brothers were lying in wait before they attacked and beat Jason with a claw hammer, hatchet and a rock.

While he Jason is dying, they open his wallet and split the $500.  There were all thrilled over their share.  $125 each, split evenly. Afterward, the four gathered for a group hug.

Interesting Fact: They listened to Helter Skelter by the Beatles 42 times for inspiration because Charles Manson referenced the song.
