Gary Ridgway aka The Green River Killer

Known as the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway is an American serial killer guilty of at least ninety murders. Since an early age Ridgway showed signs of violent behavior, at only sixteen he stabbed a six-year old boy he had managed to lead into the woods, fortunately the boy survived. Later in life he became a very religious and strict man who hated prostitutes but even though he hated them he still demanded their services on a regular basis. His three ex wives have said that Ridgway had an insatiable sexual appetite and that he demanded sex several times a day. His killing method was always the same, he would usually pick up a hitchiker, normally a prostitute, after that he would rape and then strangle them. Most of his victims were dumped in the woods around the Green River and it is known that Ridgway often returned to have sex with the corpses. Ridgway was first considered a suspect in 1983 but was only arrested on November 30, 2001, after a DNA analysis that provided the evidence needed for the arrest. Ridgway entered a guilty plea to forty-eight charges of aggravated first degree murder, this was a part of a plea bargain to avoid getting the death penalty. In exchange for that he would have to help locate the remains of his victims and give further details that could help the police in the investigation. In December 2003 Gary Ridgway was sentenced to forty-eight life sentences without the possibility of parole, all those sentences are to be served consecutively. In 2003 Ridgway led the police to the remains of three of his victims. Gary Ridgway is serving his sentence at the Washington State Penitentiary, located in  Walla Walla, Washington.
