Lorraine Thorpe (top left) was just 15-years-old when she joined because one of Britain’s most sadistic women killers. She killed her father and his friend in separate incidents in 2010.

The first victim was 41-year-old Rosalyn Hunt (bottom left.) Rosalyn was in a relationship with 42-year-old Paul Clarke (top right), both of whom were alcoholics. Lorraine’s father, Desmond Thorpe (bottom right), was also an alcoholic who was described as being a “very vulnerable person.” Desmond and Lorraine’s mother split up when she was just 12-years-old and she went to live with her father. In fact, due to being a “hopeless alcoholic,” she became his carer. However, she didn’t do much caring for him - she would frequently abuse and beat her unstable father. Lorraine was influenced by being in the company of Paul, who was the “dominant member” of a group of heavy drinkers which included Rosalyn and Desmond. She stopped going to school and avoided social services.

In August of 2012, Paul got into an argument with Rosalyn. He accused her of hitting his dog and allowing it to bite a child in Ipswich town centre. A fight broke out while Lorraine and Paul were at Rosalyn’s apartment. Over the course of several days, Lorraine and Paul inflicted unimaginable torture on Rosalyn. She was whipped with a dog chain, had her hair set on fire and had salt poured in her wounds. She was punched and kicked in the head and a cheese grater and electric fan were rubbed into her face. When police found her in her apartment, she had suffered heavy blows to her neck and chest and had none broken ribs. Lorraine boasted to a friend that she had stamped on her head. Days after Rosalyn’s murder, Lorraine and Paul smothered Desmond to death over fears he would go to police. Before being smothered, he too had been beaten by the duo.

Both Lorraine Thorpe and Paul Clarke were found guilty of both murders. Paul was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years while Lorraine was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years. On the 1st of September, 2014, Paul Clarke committed suicide in his prison cell.
